Stack-based buffer overflow in MediaTek WLAN AP drivers allows local users with System privilege to escalate privileges without interaction. The driver applies an incorrect bounds check before writing to a stack buffer, permitting an out-of-bounds write. Affected code is present in SDK 7.6.7.2 and earlier across eight listed chipsets and in OpenWrt 19.07 and 21.02 on MT6890; MediaTek has not disclosed the responsible function or input format.
