Local privilege escalation via WLAN bounds-check failure
Published Oct 14, 2025 · Updated Oct 14, 2025
An out-of-bounds write in the MediaTek WLAN AP driver allows local users with System privilege to escalate privileges without interaction. An incorrect bounds check lets the driver write beyond an intended buffer, but MediaTek has not disclosed the affected function or input path. Exploitation requires existing System privilege; the resulting elevated context and exact controllable memory effects remain undisclosed.
