CVE-2025-20713

Local privilege escalation via WLAN stack overflow

Published Oct 14, 2025 · Updated Oct 14, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in MediaTek WLAN AP drivers 7.6.7.2 and earlier allows local users with System privilege to gain elevated privileges. An incorrect bounds check permits an out-of-bounds write to a stack buffer in the WLAN access-point driver. Exploitation requires prior System privilege and no user interaction; MediaTek has not disclosed the reachable input or resulting privilege boundary.
