Adjacent privilege escalation via incorrect bounds check
Published Oct 14, 2025 · Updated Oct 14, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in MediaTek WLAN AP drivers allows remote attackers to elevate privileges on affected access points. MediaTek identifies an incorrect bounds check in the driver but has not disclosed the affected function or wireless input field that reaches the write. Exploitation requires adjacent wireless reachability, needs neither authentication nor user interaction, and grants elevated execution on the access point.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
