Use-after-free memory corruption in MediaTek monitor_hang allows local users with System privilege to escalate privileges on affected chipsets. The component uses memory after it has been freed, producing memory corruption; MediaTek has not disclosed the freed object or triggering code path. Exploitation requires existing System privilege and no user interaction, and successful exploitation elevates local privileges.
