Heap-based buffer overflow in MediaTek MT6890, MT7915, MT7916, MT7981, and MT7986 WLAN AP drivers allows remote attackers to execute code. The driver performs an out-of-bounds heap write after applying an incorrect bounds check; MediaTek has not disclosed the triggering input or code path. Exploitation requires adjacent wireless reach but no privileges or user interaction; affected software includes SDK 7.6.7.2 and earlier, plus OpenWrt 19.07 and 21.02 on MT6890.
