Unauthenticated code execution via incorrect bounds check
Published Apr 7, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in MediaTek WLAN service in listed SDK and OpenWrt releases allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. An incorrect bounds check lets attacker-controlled WLAN input drive a write past the intended buffer; MediaTek has not disclosed the routine or field involved. No privileges or user interaction are required, and successful exploitation grants code execution on the affected device.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
