Physical privilege escalation via unchecked DA buffer write
Published Mar 3, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in MediaTek DA on affected chipsets allows physically proximate attackers to escalate privileges. The DA component writes beyond an intended buffer because it processes data without a required bounds check. Exploitation requires physical device access and user interaction but no prior execution privileges, and successful exploitation grants elevated local privileges.
