CVE-2025-20643

Physical memory disclosure via unchecked DA read

Published Feb 3, 2025 · Updated Feb 3, 2025

Information disclosure in MediaTek Flash Tool V5 DA on Android 12.0 through 15.0 allows physically proximate attackers to read memory. The old-architecture DA library reads beyond a buffer because it omits a bounds check, exposing adjacent memory through unnecessary debug output. Exploitation requires physical access, existing System privilege, and user interaction; the reported consequence is limited to local information exposure.
