Local privilege escalation via incorrect bounds check
Published Feb 3, 2025 · Updated Mar 25, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in MediaTek WLAN AP driver SDK 7.6.7.2 and earlier allows local users to gain elevated privileges. The WLAN AP driver applies an incorrect bounds check before writing, allowing the write to exceed the intended buffer boundary. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and no user interaction; successful use grants elevated privileges.
