Browser JavaScript execution via reflected dataset.command payload
Published Oct 1, 2025 · Updated Oct 1, 2025
Reflected XSS in Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Cloud Platform allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript in another user's browser. The /app/search/table endpoint reflects a malicious dataset.command payload through Splunk Web without neutralizing it before browser interpretation. A low-privileged account outside the admin and power roles must submit the payload, another user must render the response, and code runs only in that user's browser.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=10.0 <10.0.0
- Affected versionversion=9.2 <9.2.8
- Affected versionversion=9.3 <9.3.6
