Sensitive search-result disclosure via guessed job SID
Published Oct 1, 2025 · Updated Oct 1, 2025
Improper access control in Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Cloud Platform allows remote authenticated users to retrieve private search results. The search-job results endpoint accepts a guessed SID for an administrative background job without enforcing the job's ownership and role restrictions. A non-admin, non-power user must have an account, and a matching live SID exposes only that job's potentially sensitive results.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=10.0 <10.0.0
