Adjacent gateway modification via crafted IPv6 advertisements

IPv6 Router Advertisement processing in Cisco Access Point Software allows attackers to alter a device's IPv6 gateway via crafted packets. The IPv6 RA packet-processing logic trusts crafted advertisements received from associated wireless clients and replaces the device's gateway. Exploitation requires wireless association and CAPWAP over IPv6; the gateway change is temporary and causes intermittent packet loss for associated clients.
