CVE-2025-2032Public exploit

Authenticated file relocation via unchecked rename path

Published Mar 6, 2025 · Updated Mar 12, 2025

Path traversal in ChestnutCMS 1.5.2 allows remote authenticated users to move server files through the file-renaming endpoint. The /dev-api/cms/file/rename handler checks only the requested file extension and accepts a rename value containing ../ without rejecting traversal sequences. A valid authenticated session is required, and successful exploitation relocates a chosen server file outside its intended resource directory.
