Authenticated device reboot via null byte injection
Published Dec 31, 2025 · Updated Dec 31, 2025
Null byte injection in the web API of Moxa NPort 6100-G2/6200-G2 Series 1.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to reboot devices. The web API processes attacker-supplied null bytes without proper string termination, causing an unexpected device reboot. Web read-only privileges are sufficient, and successful exploitation interrupts service only until the appliance completes its reboot.
