CVE-2025-20220

Root command execution via CLI input injection

Published Aug 14, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

Command injection in Cisco FMC and FTD Software allows local users with Administrator credentials to execute commands as root. The CLI fails to validate input to specific legitimate commands before passing injected operating system commands to the underlying shell. Administrator access is required, and the security boundary is material only where expert mode is blocked, such as multi-instance or lockdown-sensor deployments.
