Operator-level script execution via insufficient input validation
Published Feb 5, 2025 · Updated Feb 5, 2025
Stored XSS in Cisco AsyncOS management for Secure Email Gateway and Secure Email and Web Manager allows remote authenticated users to run scripts. The web interface insufficiently validates attacker-controlled input, stores it, and renders it as executable script when a user opens a crafted link. An attacker needs valid Operator-or-higher credentials and user interaction; exploitation exposes browser-based information or runs code in the interface context.
