Code execution via unchecked CO file copy
Published Mar 11, 2025 · Updated Mar 12, 2025
Buffer overflow in Ashlar-Vellum Cobalt 12.0.1204.91 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted CO file. The CO-file parser copies user-supplied data into a buffer without first validating that the supplied length fits the destination. Exploitation requires a user to open the file or visit a malicious page, and successful code runs in the context of the current process.
