Secure Boot bypass in Cisco IOS XR Software allows local users with root-system privileges to load unverified software during boot. The software load process insufficiently verifies modules, allowing manipulated binaries to evade integrity checks and the requirement for Cisco-signed images. Local root-system access is required; successful exploitation permits control of boot configuration and alteration of the running system's security properties.
