Line-card reset via malformed IPv4 packets

Improper input validation in Cisco IOS XR Software allows remote attackers to reset affected router line cards with crafted IPv4 packets. Line-card packet handling processes malformed IPv4 traffic instead of rejecting it when an interface on a Lightspeed or Lightspeed-Plus card has an IPv4 ACL or QoS policy applied. No authentication or user interaction is required; network processor errors reset or shut down the network process, dropping traffic while the line card reloads.
