Node reconfiguration and restart via API authorization gap
Published Feb 5, 2025 · Updated Feb 5, 2025
Authorization bypass in Cisco ISE and ISE-PIC 3.3 Patch 3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter nodes. A specific API omits an authorization check and improperly validates fields in crafted HTTP requests, exposing operations beyond a read-only role. Valid read-only administrative credentials suffice to obtain sensitive information, change configuration, and reload a node, interrupting new-device authentication in single-node deployments.
