Adjacent device reload via crafted Ethernet frames

Denial of service in Cisco NX-OS Software on affected Nexus switches allows attackers on an adjacent Layer 2 network to force a reload. The health monitoring diagnostics incorrectly handle a sustained rate of crafted Ethernet frames, causing L2ACLRedirect or RewriteEngineLoopback to fail ten times and trigger a kernel-panic reboot. No authentication is required, but the attacker must share an Ethernet segment; Cisco reports no confidentiality or integrity effect.
