CVE-2025-20072Network attack vector

Mobile crash via unvalidated attachment action style

Published Jan 16, 2025 · Updated Jan 16, 2025

Incorrect type handling in Mattermost Mobile 2.22.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to crash the app via a crafted post. The attachment renderer accepts an attacker-controlled proto value as an action style without validating its type, causing the client to fail while processing post.props.attachments. An authenticated account able to place the crafted content where a client processes it is required, and the reported consequence is a mobile-app service interruption rather than data access or modification.
