Local privilege escalation
Published Feb 10, 2026 · Updated Feb 10, 2026
Improper condition checking in Intel ipmctl before CR_MGMT_02.00.00.4052 and CR_MGMT_03.00.00.0538 allows local users to gain privileges. Intel identifies the affected locus only as Ring 3 user applications and has not disclosed which condition is checked incorrectly or what input reaches it. Exploitation requires an authenticated low-privileged user, high attack complexity, additional attack requirements, and active user interaction; success grants elevated privileges and compromises the affected host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
