Local privilege escalation via permissive installer permissions
Published Aug 12, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Incorrect default permissions in some Intel Graphics Driver software installers allow local users to escalate privileges. Intel has not disclosed which installer files or directories receive overly permissive access controls or how that access reaches elevated execution. Exploitation requires an authenticated local user, high complexity, additional conditions, and interaction by another user; the resulting privilege gain can fully compromise the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
