Flow disclosure via weak database cryptography
Published May 9, 2025 · Updated Aug 31, 2025
Weak database protection in IBM App Connect Enterprise Certified Container 8.1 through 12.10 allows local users to decrypt stored flows. DesignerAuthoring instances persist flows in a database protected by cryptographic algorithms that IBM describes as weaker than expected. Access must be local to the containerized deployment, and successful decryption exposes flow confidentiality without altering data or interrupting service.
