Database disclosure via unescaped REST query parameter
Published Apr 1, 2025 · Updated Apr 1, 2025
SQL injection in Gutentor before 3.4.7 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to read database data via REST. The get_authors REST endpoint passes the post_type parameter into an SQL statement without sanitization or escaping, as demonstrated by a time-delay payload. Administrator privileges are required, and the published proof of concept demonstrates query control without reported database writes or service interruption.
