SYSTEM privilege escalation via unquoted search path
Published Mar 12, 2025 · Updated May 12, 2025
Local privilege escalation in Xerox Desktop Print Experience before 8.5 allows local users with low privileges to gain SYSTEM access. The CNA maps the flaw to an unquoted search path or element, but Xerox has not identified the affected executable, service, or path. Successful exploitation requires an existing low-privileged Windows account and crosses into the SYSTEM security context, enabling limited data access and modification.
