CVE-2025-1976Known exploitation

Admin-to-root escalation via faulty IP address validation

Published Apr 24, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

Code injection in Brocade Fabric OS 9.1.0 through 9.1.1d6 allows local users with admin privileges to execute arbitrary code as root. The input-validation component accepts a malicious IP address that reaches code generation without sufficient validation, enabling existing commands and added subroutines. A valid predefined admin role or user-defined role with admin-level privileges is required, and compromise grants full control of the switch operating system.
