CVE-2025-1975Network attack vector

Server crash via empty model manifest digest

Published May 16, 2025 · Updated May 16, 2025

Improper array-index validation in Ollama 0.5.11 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash the server through a crafted model pull. The /api/pull path accepts an empty digest from a spoofed registry manifest and passes it to downloadBlob instead of rejecting it. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the observed consequence is loss of service rather than data access or modification.
