Authentication bypass via interrupted lifecycle events
Published Mar 4, 2025 · Updated Jun 4, 2026
Authentication bypass in Firefox Focus for Android before 136 allows physically proximate attackers to access a locked browser session. Rapidly alternating the home-screen search widget, home screen, and app icon interrupts Android lifecycle events before the app applies its authentication lock. The fingerprint-lock setting must be enabled and the device accessible; successful exploitation exposes open tabs and browser history without authentication.
