CVE-2025-1935Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Protocol-handler hijacking via clickjacked notification bar

Published Mar 4, 2025 · Updated Jun 4, 2026

Clickjacking in Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird before 136, and ESR editions before 128.8, allows remote attackers to register a protocol handler. The notification bar enables its permission button immediately, so page content can reposition a deceptive click over the approval control. Exploitation requires the user to click on a malicious page; registration causes later links for that protocol to open the attacker's page, and mailto links can disclose email-address data.
