Account takeover via unverified Apple OAuth identity
Published May 5, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Authentication bypass in BuddyBoss Platform Pro 2.7.01 and earlier allows remote attackers to access any account through Apple OAuth. The Apple OAuth authentication request accepts a supplied user identity without sufficiently verifying that it belongs to the OAuth response. Apple sign-in must be enabled, and knowledge of an existing user's email address is sufficient to obtain that account's access, including administrator access.
