Missing authentication in affected Yokogawa recorder products allows remote attackers to alter measurements and settings over the network. The authentication function ships disabled, so network requests reach every settings and operations function without a login or authorization check. Exposure requires a recorder to retain its default authentication setting while connected to a network; reachable attackers can manipulate measured values and configuration data.
