CVE-2025-1801Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via cross-request JWT swapping

Published Mar 3, 2025 · Updated Nov 20, 2025

Race condition in Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform 2.5 allows remote attackers to obtain a more privileged user's JWT. The gateway gRPC service reuses an ExternalAuth object across concurrent proxy requests without isolating request state, allowing one request to receive another request's token. Requests must overlap; even an unauthenticated request can inherit a higher-privileged session and access data available to that user.
