CVE-2025-1792Network attack vector

Guest member metadata disclosure via missing channel check

Published May 30, 2025 · Updated Jun 12, 2025

Authorization flaw in Mattermost 10.7.0, 10.5.0 through 10.5.3, and 9.11.0 through 9.11.12 allows remote authenticated users to read member metadata. The addChannelMember API handler accepts a guest session for a public channel without verifying that the guest has read permission for that channel. Guest access must be enabled, and the guest can expose member metadata only for a public channel outside the guest's assigned channels.
