CVE-2025-1787

Privilege escalation via cross-origin WebSocket authentication

Published Feb 24, 2026 · Updated Feb 24, 2026

Origin validation errors in Genetec Update Service before 2.10.600 allow local users with administrator rights to elevate GUS privileges. The configuration web page accepts WebSocket connections without strict Origin validation and exposes client authentication through cookies readable by scripts. Exploitation requires an authenticated Windows administrator and can disclose configuration information; chaining with CVE-2025-1789 enables escalation from low privilege.
