Administrator stored XSS via unescaped checkbox labels
Published Mar 16, 2025 · Updated Mar 17, 2025
Stored XSS in the Checkbox Labels setting in Moove Agency GDPR Cookie Compliance before 4.15.7 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts. The plugin saves insufficiently sanitized label input and emits it into the cookie settings banner without adequate output escaping, so an event-handler payload persists in rendered pages. Administrator-level access and a configuration that disables unfiltered_html, such as WordPress Multisite, are required; the code runs when a visitor opens cookie settings and interacts with the affected checkbox.
