SMF crash via stale Diameter session assertion
Published Aug 12, 2026 · Updated Aug 12, 2026
Denial of service in Open5GS 2.7.0 through 2.7.6 allows remote authenticated users to crash the SMF with a delayed Gx CCA. smf_gx_cca_cb looks up the CCA Session-Id after its session has been deleted, then asserts that the returned session context exists and aborts the process when it does not. Reachability requires a configured Diameter Gx peer plus rapid UE detach and reattach with a delayed answer; the crash terminates active UE sessions until SMF recovery.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
