CVE-2025-15684Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Daemon crash via duplicate Diameter application identifiers

Published Aug 12, 2026 · Updated Aug 12, 2026

Reachable assertion in Open5GS 2.7.0 through 2.7.6 allows remote attackers to crash Diameter-based core daemons via a malformed CER. The freeDiameter rule parser treats duplicate Auth-Application-Id AVPs as fatal, and diam_log_func converts that log condition into an unconditional abort. Unauthenticated Diameter reachability is sufficient; one crafted CER terminates HSS, MME, PCRF, or AAA service using the shared stack.
