Stored XSS via unescaped category icon value
Published Aug 5, 2026 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in AyeCode Ltd GeoDirectory before 2.8.110 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via a place category. The place-category Map Icon handler stores attacker-controlled ct_cat_icon[src] data and renders it unescaped inside an input value attribute on the category edit page. Editor or Administrator access with permission to manage place categories is required, and a viewer must reopen the category and hover over the field for the script to run in that viewer's browser.
