Stored XSS via unescaped image ALT text
Published Aug 2, 2026 · Updated Aug 2, 2026
Stored XSS in Awesome Motive Charitable before 1.8.5.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute script on campaign pages. The Photo field's ALT Text value passes through wp_strip_all_tags(), which leaves quotes unescaped when inserted into an img alt attribute. An Administrator or Campaign Manager can inject an event handler that runs in visitors' browsers after they open the published campaign and interact with the image.
