Unauthenticated plugin installation via weak nonce authorization
Published Jun 18, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in FunnelKit Automations 3.5.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to install arbitrary WordPress plugins. The install_or_activate_addon_plugins() path omits a capability check and accepts a weak nonce hash instead of enforcing administrator authorization. No account is required, and installation of attacker-chosen plugins enables further site infection.
