Improper certificate validation in TP-Link Tapo H100 v1 and P100 v1 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to alter device-cloud traffic. The device-cloud TLS client fails to reject an untrusted peer certificate, but TP-Link has not disclosed the exact failed check or code path. Exploitation requires an on-path position on the same network segment and passive device activity; it permits reading and modification of device data and operations.
