Authenticated file overwrite via upload race
Published Jun 14, 2026 · Updated Jun 14, 2026
Race condition in Iptanus File Upload before 5.1.7 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite files uploaded by other users. With duplicatepolicy set to "maintain both," the upload path checks whether a filename exists separately from writing the file, without synchronizing concurrent requests. Exploitation requires an authenticated account, the affected setting, user interaction, and concurrent uploads using the same filename.
