Authenticated post metadata disclosure via broad capability check
Published Jan 16, 2026 · Updated Jan 16, 2026
Information exposure in WP Recipe Maker 10.2.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read restricted post metadata via REST. The api_get_post_summary function authorizes arbitrary post IDs with the broad edit_posts capability instead of an object-level read check. Contributor-level access is sufficient to retrieve titles and featured-image URLs from password-protected, private, or draft posts.
