CVE-2025-15506Public exploitHinoki check available

Application crash via mismatched glob-string indexing

Published Jan 11, 2026 · Updated Jan 11, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in OpenColorIO 2.0 through 2.5.0 allows local users to crash applications via a malformed FileRules pattern. ConvertToRegularExpression indexes the original globPattern with an offset calculated while iterating an expanded, potentially longer globString, then passes the resulting out-of-range pointer to ThrowInvalidRegex. Exploitation requires local control of a configuration consumed by an OCIO process, and the demonstrated consequence is that process aborting during configuration parsing.
