Authenticated root command execution via DeviceURL blacklist
Published Jan 6, 2026 · Updated Jan 6, 2026
OS command injection in TRENDnet TEW-811DRU 1.0.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root via DeviceURL. The httpd setDeviceURL function in uapply.cgi concatenates DeviceURL into a system() shell command, while its blacklist omits pipes and command substitution. A privileged web-management session and hidden CSRF token are required before a crafted POST request can run injected commands with root privileges.
