Authenticated arbitrary object deletion via unchecked objectName
Published Jan 5, 2026 · Updated Jan 5, 2026
Path traversal in JavaMall commit 994f1e2b019378ec9444cdf3fce2d5b5f72d28f0 allows remote authenticated users to delete MinIO objects. The MinioController delete method passes the request-supplied objectName directly to MinIO's removeObject operation without restricting names, suffixes, or traversal sequences. Low-privileged network access to the deletion endpoint is required, and the demonstrated consequence is deletion of objects reachable through the configured MinIO bucket.
