Authenticated command execution via unsanitized layout write
Published Dec 31, 2025 · Updated Dec 31, 2025
Code injection in the Layout API in KodiCMS 13.82.135 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary server commands. The Save path passes the content argument to file_put_contents, writing it without sanitization into an executable PHP file under the public layouts directory. A valid API key or administrator session is required; a successful request creates a web shell that runs commands with the web server's privileges.
